DEVITA is committed to providing a complete and balanced analysis that fairly evaluates energy-saving options. We perform Life Cycle Cost Analysis to help our clients make the best decision based on total costs of ownership. Because of our many years of experience in the energy field, we know what works and what doesn’t. Our track record and our many repeat clients are a testament to our commitment to excellence.
We strive to satisfy the goals of triple-bottom-line accountability: great environments where people live, work, and learn; profitable buildings to own and operate; and increased sustainability of our world.
Our team is made up of the best talent in the fields of mechanical, electrical and structural engineering, lighting design, commissioning, energy analysis, and LEED services. Our engineers have extensive experience with sustainable systems such as solar thermal, geothermal, absorption chillers, photovoltaic energy, and rainwater catchment.
Our staff includes certified commissioning providers, certified energy auditors, professional engineers, and LEED Accredited Professionals. Our building analysis tools include blower door testing apparatus and digital thermography. These help us diagnose building problem sources and identify potential issues when we are designing HVAC renovations.
We serve on national engineering organization committees such as the Illuminating Engineering Society and ASHRAE. One of our team members serves on the ASHRAE committee which wrote the first ASHRAE Design Guide for Zero Energy Buildings – a “how to” manual of design strategies to achieve a zero energy building across all of the ASHRAE climate zones. Our two net zero buildings are operational – one is even a net exporter.
We use a suite of software for energy modeling and life-cycle cost analysis for new and existing buildings. We use these programs in conjunction with AutoCAD and Revit to model buildings and analyze proposed energy conservation measures.
DEVITA is a qualified Energy Star administrator. We have vast experience in the Energy Star certification program, from the design phase to the verification phase. In addition to our deep understanding of what drives energy usage in your building, we also have detailed knowledge of the Energy Star application process. During the certification process, we can represent you as the design professional of record.
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program is designed to recognize buildings that strive to exceed code compliance. From recycling and air quality to water and energy efficiency, to material usage and location, the LEED program provides many options for businesses to score points towards certification. Our LEED-accredited professionals can aid your team in navigating the many choices in LEED by outlining the tradeoffs involved in a clear and concise way. Our team can identify the technologies that make sense for your project and your organization, not just based on being green, but based on what makes sense for your business.
The code landscape is changing due to the need for more efficient building energy management across North America. Many jurisdictions are adopting new rules, and the requirements are subject to continuous modification. In this complex environment, our team can evaluate a project to determine the best methods of achieving and maintaining compliance based on the owner’s needs. We understand that success is based on many factors, including cost. Our team can provide building energy modeling for your project, and suggest energy solutions that help keep a project within budget.
At DEVITA, we believe Building Information Modeling (BIM) represents the future of construction design. The models that result from the design process not only aid in construction, but also provide ongoing value to the property owner by modeling a wealth of information, including simulated erection sequencing, estimated material counts, and detailed models of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. DEVITA is committed to the ongoing implementation of BIM through the use of 3D design software.
Autodesk® Revit software is a powerful tool, helping our professionals design, build, and maintain higher-quality, more energy-efficient buildings through advanced Building Information Modeling.
BIM helps users accurately visualize and plan for construction projects by showing all aspects of the architectural design, structural engineering and building construction.
The Revit software suite also includes Revit MEP, which helps designers and engineers design more efficient mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. DEVITA is committed to training each of our designers and engineers in the use of Revit software.
Tekla® software solutions work like model-based encyclopedias of your project, including every important detail, while also presenting the construction project as a whole. DEVITA has invested heavily in the Precast version of this software, and we are committed to a future in which the entire Precast design process, from shapes modeling to shop ticket generation, is performed in the software.
In addition to our years of experience and highly capable team, our investment in industry-leading 3D BIM modeling technology and knowledge of the latest advancements in smart energy design help us consistently deliver innovative engineering strategies.
Working with DEVITA is different because we’re as committed to your success as you are. Tell us about your project today.
